Hidden content

The first thing that ought to be highlighted on our list is hidden text. It's basicaly a content full of stuffed keywords. Marketers can try to hide the content in many ways (in comments, main body, etc.). it happens that developers also hide keywords within CSS by using very small ar invisible text on the background.

Hidden text practice were very popular about 10 years ago and were giving very good results. However, nowadays, it's not recommended to use hidden text in any way as you can get banned and your website is very likely to disappear from serp.

Meta Keyword Stuffing

There are two Meta tags that are used to let search engines know about page content. They are placed between the <head> tag and if within this tag there are too many similar or repeated keywords, you may be considered a spammer and for sure will not improve your page ranking.

Basic SEO rules you need to remember

1. Content is king. Always remember to create unique and interesting content, so that your visitors will read it with pleasure and may even share it on Social Networks. After the latest "Penguin" update, good content is key to succeed.

2. Site performance: Make sure your website is "light", loads quickly and do not contain heavy parts that slows down its performance. Also make sure your site does not have "death ends" and is user friendly.

4. User experience: It's important your visitors stays on your site and interact with you. The longer they stay the better it is for your site and it also reduce the bounce rate. 

5. Keyword relevancy: use keywords that are relevant to your site and do not practice "keyword stuffing" practices. Do not repeat keywords and do not create "unnatural" description and content. 

6. Do not purchase links: This practice is considered a Black SEO hat and you can be punished for doing that. 

7. Anchor links: Use only natural anchors that match your content. Avoid using exact anchors as they are not the best solution according to Google. 

8. Link building: Build your links responsibly and slowly. 

9. Long-tail keywords: Look for long-tail keywords! By using them you will spend on promoting your website.
